Easy Intitial Setup

You begin using the tool with an easy setup. There are three main areas that must be either set up or modified. All other sections of the tool are driven by this initial setup. The setup areas, and the tools for each, are:

Group I - Personnel:

  1. Users: These are the users of the system. You will be able to assign user names, passwords, and levels of access.
  2. Screeners: These are the people that do the initial candidate screening. They have limited access and are given the security level of "Screener"
  3. Physicians: This is the list of doctors who will be seeing patients. They are given the security level of "Doctor".
  4. Coordinators: This is the list of coordinators. They are given the security level of "Coordinator".

Group II - Clinical Studies:

  1. Sponsors: This is a list of the sponsoring agencies with detailed information. This should be done first for any study connected with a new sponsoring agency.
  2. Studies: This is a list of all studies. Each study references a particular sponsoring agency and so the sponsor must first have been entered. This is the second step for entering a new study (first if the agency is already present).
  3. Visit Names: This is a list of the steps in a study. Each visit has its own name (e.g. Study 1, Study 2) and it references a particular study. Therefore, the study must first have been entererd.
  4. Procedures: This is a list of the steps in a study. Each visitname has a group of procedures associated with it. Therefore, the visitname must first have been entered. If a procedure is used in more than one visitname, it must be entered separately for each one.

Group III - Medical Conditions:

  1. Study Areas: This is the list of areas of interest for which candidates contact the company. It appears on the Screening page. A default list is provided with the initial setup, and this list can be modified.
  2. Conditions: This is the list of medical conditions for a candidate's medical history. It appears on the Screening page. A default list is provided with the initial setup, and this list can be modified.

Screening Information

The screening section of the tool is used to add, update, track, and remove candidates. This section includes contact information, reference information, current and previous medication tracking, and information about their medical conditions, to be used to select them as potential study participants.
